Catalogue Note
A lavish publication, produced in a limited edition of just 200 copies, of which only 50 were issued in this morocco binding, recording the history of the palace of Tsarskoe Selo, with many photographic illustrations of the decoration and architecture. Empress Elizabeth I ruled from 1741 until 1762 and her architect, Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli, remodelled much of the palace in his elaborate baroque style.
