folio (339 x 235mm.), printed in red and black throughout, hand-coloured armorial on title-page, contemporary illumination throughout, including numerous initials and woodcut illustrations, with the date 1599 appearing in the colouring of the woodcut on A1r, printed music, first two leaves of the "Canon missae" printed on vellum with full-page illuminated woodcut, woodcut printer's device at end, 3-page manuscript table bound at front, at end 13ff. of music manuscript dated 1599, 3pp. manuscript "Missa Divi Norbourti" (i.e. St Norbert, the founder of the Order), and 24ff. of manuscript "Ordo missae" and "Canon missae" with a full-page illustration of the Crucifixion, later calf over contemporary wooden boards, gilt and gauffered edges, small section excised from foot of title-page, N1 and Ff6 torn without loss, Ff1 supplied from another copy (without illumination), a few other small marginal tears, binding rebacked and very rubbed, lacking clasps
