Catalogue Note

Trithemius's catalogue of religious writers was first published in 1494.

The three roll tools used on the binding (in the style that Oldham terms Parisian; see plate III) are Oldham FP.a (6), FL.b (1) and RP.a (5). All three are recorded as being used together in London from the 1520s to 1551. FP.a (6) incorporates the initials F.I. but it is not known whose initials they are.
