Provenance

Acquired directly from the Artist by the present owner in the 1960s

Condition

Original canvas. There is a small spot of cracking and resultant lifting and loss in the top right hand corner of the inner circle, with further craquelure apparent elsewhere. There are further traces of minor, less noticeable loss to the black pigment down the extreme left hand edge. Elsewhere there is very minor surface dirt and traces of studio detritus apparent upon close inspection. Ultraviolet light reveals areas of fluorescence which appear in keeping with the nature of the materials and does not suggest retouching. Housed in a thick white wooden frame.
