Condition
Unexamined out of frame.
The sheet appears at least partially adhered to a backing support in at least all four corners, with pin holes visible in these corners.
There are some tiny handling marks and light surface scuffs and minor nicks to the extreme right hand edge, with a further instance of loss to the extreme left hand edge, perhaps in line with a previous mount. Elsewhere there is a very light crease to the bottom left edge, just below the blue figure. Elsewhere there appears some small traces of flaking loss to the pinkie/white pigment on both figures and to two black spots on the right hand figure with a further speck of loss in line with an air bubble to the gouache in the upper left quadrant. There is also craquelure to a thicker globule of black impasto towards the centre of the composition, with further minor traces of light studio detritus apparent elsewhere. This excepting the work appears in good overall condition with fresh, bright colours throughout.
Float-mounted against a cream card backing in a thick black wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
