Condition
Original canvas.
There are areas of fine craquelure and reticulation to the composition, most noticeable in the top half, but appearing elsewhere. This excepting the work appears in good overall condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals traces of fluorescence and probable retouchings to some of the aforementioned areas of craquelure in the top half of the composition, with further traces visible to the extreme edges, most probably in line with a previous framing. These have all been very sensitively executed.
Housed in a thick gilt wooden frame.
