Condition

The sheet is fully laid down to a backing card. There are minor creases to the bottom left hand corner, with a further faint horizontal crease to the centre of the top edge, not wholly visible in the present mount. There is a tiny repaired tear along the right edge There is evidence of old adhesive along the right hand edge. There is a very light possible compression mark in the bottom left corner, running through the figure. There are minor signs of light surface dirt, and possible early foxing, most prominent to the centre of the water, but this excepting the work appears in good overall condition, with strong, fresh passages of impasto throughout.
