Condition

The work is in good condition overall, as is the board which is free from scuffs and abrasion. There are indications of minor wear and handling on the margins, along with associated minor paint losses on the edges of the board. Any surface inconsistencies appear to be inherent to the artist's working methods. Examination under ultraviolet light indicates no evidence of retouching. Framed.

Catalogue Note

The power and fascinating quality of Legaspi’s [paintings] stem from the feeling that they strike deep into subconscious reserves of energy and imagination. Aside from being dramatic metaphors of “the human condition,” they are also visual correlatives of inner moods and psychological weathers.
