Condition

One fine hairline fissure to the inside of the lid, and another very fine almost invisible fissure to the inside of the cup. one small lack to the rim to the inside of the lid. In very good condition overall, very desirable piece.

La technique de l'écaille piquée d'or appliqué aux arts décoratifs et utilitaires trouve ses origines à Naples dans les ateliers des tabletiers comme Antonio Laurentis, les Sarao ou Nicolas de Turris. Un encrier signé de Turris est conservé dans la collection Rothschild au Waddesdon Manor.
