Condition
The illustration is quite accurate.
Please note that this desk dates rather from late 18th century than from early 19th century.
Overall good condition. Small chips and losses to the veneer in places.
Traces of previous handles on the drawers (escutcheons probably replaced).
Gilt-bronze mounts tarnished and rubbed as expected. Leather top worn and distressed.
Large model which would benefit from a restoration.
