Description

  • Haut. 87 cm

sculpté de godrons, feuilles d'eau et piastres, les supports d'accotoir en balustres détachés à cannelures torses ; recouvert de cuir (cuir à repatiner)

Condition

The illustration is accurate. Good overall condition despite the usual minor scratches and marks due to age and handling. The construction is firm and sound. A minute restoration to the carved freize of the back. A small mahogany block is missing at the back (please see the attached picture). The seatrail has been reinforced with additional wooden blocks which are only visible at the reverse of the seatrail. The mahogany is dusty, it would benefit from cleaning and wax. The leather is dry and worn but not distressed. It can be easily patinated as the colour is very light. Very nice model with an exquisite carving.
