Condition

The illustration is accurate. As visible on the image, velvet and patina are worn. Structure is solid, reinforced by metal blocks. One foot restored (and possibly recarved). Very fine pair of chassis armchairs which would benefit from a restoration. Very attractive model.

Ces beaux modèles de fauteuil à la reine, caractérisés par des cartouches en forme de coeur, sont similaires à d'autres sièges estampillés de Pothier, qu'ils soient à châssis (vente Thierry de Maigret, Paris, le 5 juin 2013, lot 207) ou non (Collection Safra, vente à New York, Sotheby's, le 4 novembre 2005, lot 601).
