Condition

The illustration is accurate. Good overall condition despite the usual minor scratches and marks due to age and handling. The construction is firm and sound. The seatrail has been reinforced with an additional wooden structure which is only visible when you flip the meridienne. The upholstery is in very good condition. Ready to use.

Catalogue Note

Le motif de la grenade éclatée flanquée de feuilles d'acanthe sur le haut du dossier et sur la ceinture rappellent fortement la production en siège de la famille Cresson. Une méridienne estampillé Cresson l'Ainé présentant un décor de grenades proche fut vendue chez Christie's Paris, le 24 juin 2003, lot 348.
