the pair of tapered band rings, one set with five cushion-cut rubies weighing approximately 4.25 carats, accented by small rose-cut diamonds weighing approximately .10 carat, size 4¾. The second ring set with five cushion-cut sapphires weighing approximately 3.75 carats, accented by small rose-cut diamonds weighing approximately .10 carat, size 4½; both circa 1900. 2 pieces.

Condition

SAPPHIRE RING: In fair condition. Sapphires display a medium blue hue and are eye-clean. Color zoning visible in the sapphires, but it is not noticable when worn. Some abrading to the facets junctions. Diamonds are intact but of a decorative quality. Ring shank has been bent out of round, and measures as a ring size 4 1/2 but fits a 5 1/2. RUBY RING: In fair condition. Rubies display a medium slightly purplish red hue. Mostly eye-clean, however, one ruby has a prominent surface-reaching inclusion, two rubies have a chip to the table, and one ruby has a chip to the girdle. Diamonds are intact but of a decorative quality. Ring shank has been bent out of round, and measures as a ring size 4 1/2 but fits a 5 1/2.
