Catalogue Note

Admiral Sir Robert Waller Otway, 1st Baronet (1770-1846) served in the Napoleonic wars, then in South America where he supported Brazilian Independence.  He served as Groom of the Bedchamber to William IV and Queen Victoria before dying suddenly in 1846, survived by his wife and eight of their twelve children.
