Description

designed as a serpent applied with blue enamel, set with numerous old mine and rose-cut diamonds weighing approximately 7.85 carats, completed by two red stone eyes, inner circumference 6 in., expandable; circa 1860. With fitted box.

Condition

In good condition overall, with some minor tarnish mainly on the inner circumference of the bangle, and some evidence of scratching to the gold, not apparent when worn. Some minor chipping and peeling to the blue enamel, and some very minor enamel loss near one of the hinges, none of which are evident when worn. The diamonds are approximately H-K color, VS-SI clarity. The eyes of the serpent are a medium slightly pinkish red, and moderately included. Inner circumference approximately 6 inches, gross weight approximately 25 dwts. With scratch number JF9888AMH, safety chain is broken. Bracelet fits different wrist sizes as it is hinged at 5 intervals for ease of wear and movement.
