the two brooches of celestial design, the star brooch centering an old mine-cut diamond weighing approximately 1.00 carat, accented by numerous smaller old mine-cut diamonds weighing approximately 3.50 carats; circa 1850. The second brooch designed as a comet set with an old European-cut diamond weighing approximately .70 carat, accented by numerous old mine-cut diamonds weighing approximately 2.40 carats. 2 pieces.
Condition
Both pieces are in good condition and test as 14K, even with the silver top on the star brooch. STAR BROOCH: The center old mine-cut diamond is approximately J-K color, SI clarity. The remainder of the old mine-cut diamonds range from approximately I-L color, VS-SI clarity. Dimensions approximately 1 3/4 by 1 3/4 inches. COMET BROOCH: The old European-cut diamond is approximately H-I color, VS clarity. The remainder of the diamonds are approximately H-J color, VS-SI clarity. Length approximately 1 5/8 inches.
