23 triangular pieces, each approximately 200mm. by 130mm., recovered from a series of bindings and reassembled jigsaw-like to reform 5 complete leaves and 1 near complete leaf from what was a fine and handsome early liturgical volume, when reconstructed: original leaf size 370mm. by 255mm., double column, 30 lines in an accomplished upright early gothic hand, some leaves with capitals touched in red, most with music, numerous tall initials in vivid blue and red with scalloping penwork in contrasting colour, one initial with penwork terminating in a dog-like animal head, shaded in blue, poking its tongue out, all with scuffs, stains and damage from reuse in binding (1 leaf substantially washed out), overall in fair and presentable condition
