Catalogue Note

Man Ray a fait d'innombrables portraits et études de sa femme dans des poses souvent distinguées, portant un costume élaboré et des bijoux qui servent à rehausser ses traits. Comme un témoignage des différentes iconographies créés pour elle, Man Ray a rassemblé pour publication une collection de photographies intitulée Les Cinquante visages de Juliet (finalement publiée après sa mort). Dans la présente photographie, Juliet pose devant la peinture de Man Ray, La Fille du bois (1949).
