Condition

This print is in very good general condition, with a glossy surface. With some random and light superficial scratches, and some superficial scratches in the upper left quadrant only visible in raking light. With two very light handling marks near the centre and lower portion, only visible in raking light.

The present work is a typical Surrealist composition, a photograph of a fortuitous encounter between a basket of fruit and a plaster cast of the torso of the Venus de’ Medici. The plaster torso featured in numerous innovative photographs of the early to mid 1930s.
