Composed of gold mesh, the frame decorated with dolphins, embellished with blue enamel and brilliant- and single-cut diamonds, unsigned, measuring approximately 220 x 180mm.

Condition
Stamped 750 for 18 carat gold. Enamel in good condition with a few small areas of loss. Gold mesh in good condition. Fabric lining in good condition but coming apart from opening edge and could benefit from repair. Diamonds bright and lively. Signs of wear consistent with age and use. Gross weight approximately 496 grams.

Catalogue Note
Aloisia Aloisi was born in Venice in 1928. Her mother, Marcella Aloisi Nobili della Scala, led an active social life surrounding herself and Aloisia by artists drawn to the city by the Venice Film Festival. In the 1950s, Aloisia married Count Niccolò Rucellai and settled in Florence where she began redesigned jewellery from her own family jewels. Her mentors included Fulco di Verdura and Cesare Settepassi. In the 1960s, Aloisia launched her own collection of fanciful jewellery. She created bespoke imaginative pieces for well-known people of the time such as the Begum of Hyderabad, Baroness Thyssen-Bornemisza, Charlotte Ford and Anna Bolchini Bonomi. Her son, Simone, began working with her in the late 1970s. Since her death in 1984, Simone is the owner of her archives and continues to work in her legacy.
