Pink sapphire, sapphire, enamel and diamond pendant/necklace, Cartier, 1911

The heart shaped pendant set with a cushion-shaped pink sapphire over a blue enamel ground, highlighted with circular- and single-cut diamonds, the reverse with a sepia portrait photograph of a young woman within a rose diamond frame, over a blue guilloché enamel ground, suspended from an oval pink sapphire and a chain spectacle-set with cushion-shaped and circular-cut diamonds, on a cushion-shaped sapphire clasp, length approximately 630mm, chain with partial French maker's mark, pendant with French assay marks, clasp numbered.

Accompanied with Cartier certificate of authenticity no. GE2008-140; together with AGTA report no. 93015611 and 96018011, each dated 20 June 2008, stating that the pink sapphires weighing 4.91 and 1.73 carats respectively, are natural, with no indications of heating. Partial French maker's mark on chain (beneath link pendant hangs on), clasp numbered HSA 2808. French assay marks for gold on the pendant. Pink sapphires measuring approximately 11.22 x 9.63 x 4.69 and 7.50 x 6.10 x 3.67 and blue sapphire 7.61 x 5.35 x 4.84mm, each of medium strong saturation, with typical inclusions, in very good condition. Diamonds weighing a total of approximately 18.57 carats, H - J colour, VS - SI clarity, as gauged and graded in the mounting. Enamel in excellent condition. A few signs of wear/age to the metal, very well preserved, in excellent condition. Total gross weight approximately 36 grams. Case stamped Cartier (recent case/not original).
