Natural pearl and diamond brooch, 1920s, and a natural pearl and diamond ring

  • Gold, platinum, diamonds and pearls
The brooch millegrain-set with circular- and single-cut diamonds, accented with three natural pearls measuring from 7.38 x 7.60 x 8.07mm to 8.75 x 9.11 x 9.10mm, French assay mark; the ring set with a button shaped natural pearl measuring 9.12 x 9.48 x 7.79mm, between pear-shaped diamond shoulders, size 52, French assay and partial maker's marks.

Condition

Accompanied by SSEF report no. 78976, stating that the three pearls on the brooch measuring from 7.38 x 7.60 x 8.07mm to 8.75 x 9.11 x 9.10mm, were found to be natural, saltwater, with no indications of artificial colour modification; together with SSEF report no. 79538 for the ring, stating that the pearl weighing 4.98 carats and measuring 9.12 x 9.48 x 7.79mm, was found to be natural, saltwater. The brooch pin stamped with French assay mark for gold. Pearls with medium to good lustre and with some growth marks; please refer to the SSEF report for further information on the pearls. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 6.00 - 8.00 carats, generally I-K colour and VS-SI clarity, as gauged and graded in the mounting. Signs of wear to the mounting consistent with age and use; brooch fitting possibly later added. The ring with a partial French maker's mark. Stamped with a French assay mark for gold. The natural pearl of white body colour, with rosé and green overtones, medium to good lustre and a few growth marks; please refer to the SSEF report for further information. Diamonds bright and lively. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with use. In good condition. Total gross weight approximately 34 grams.
