Sapphire and diamond ring, Chaumet

The oval sapphire weighing 31.12 carats, set within a frame of brilliant-cut and baguette diamonds, size 49, signed Chaumet, French assay and maker's marks, case stamped Chaumet.

Accompanied by SSEF report no. 72830, stating that the sapphire weighing 31.12 carats and measuring 20.05 x 13.98 x 12.27 mm is of Ceylon origin, with no indications of heating. Signed Chaumet Paris on inside, maker's mark on outside of shank. Stamped with French assay mark for 18 carat yellow gold. Sapphire of medium saturation, for further information please refer to the report; good transparency, few crystal inclusions, naturals on girdle, few scratches and abrasions. Diamonds bright and lively. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with use. In good condition. Gross weight approximately 15 grams.
