- Sapphire, diamonds and gold
Set with a cabochon sapphire stated to weigh 23.24 carats, the front of the mount decorated with a geometric pattern of brilliant-cut, triangular and baguette diamonds, size 511/2, French assay mark.
Condition
Accompanied by SSEF report no. 59325, stating that the 23.24 carat sapphire, measuring approximately 20.70 x 14.40 x 7.80 mm, is of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating.
Maker's mark WR. Engraved SC.BIRMAN 23.24, referring to origin and weight of sapphire. Stamped with French assay mark and 750 for 18 carat yellow gold. Sapphire of medium strong saturation, with typical crystal inclusions, few surface reaching, minor scratches and nicks, cavity to the reverse. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 3.00 - 3.50 carats, on average of G-H colour and VS-SI clarity, as gauged and graded in mounting. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with use, minor indication of resizing. In good condition. Gross weight approximately 19 grams.
