Emerald, ruby, sapphire and diamond brooch and a ring, Mauboussin, 1960s

Each of bombé design, featuring a cabochon emerald encircled with circular-cut diamonds, within swirling lines of circular-cut rubies, sapphires, emeralds and diamonds, ring size 49, each signed Mauboussin, numbered, French assay and maker's marks.

Each signed MAUBOUSSIN - PARIS, brooch indistinctly numbered 1500(?)0(?)2, the ring numbered 15334. Each with French maker's marks, the brooch with French assay marks for gold, the ring with French assay marks for platinum and gold. Cabochon emerald on brooch measuring approximately 13.07 x 12.65 x 6.90mm (depth difficult to measure due to mounting), calculated to weigh approximately 7.50 - 9.00 carats; cabochon emerald on ring measuring approximately 11.94 x 11.86 x 7.40mm, calculated to weigh approximately 6.90 - 8.40 carats, as gauged in the mounting. Emeralds of medium strong saturation, medium tone, with typical crystal inclusions, some surface reaching, smaller circular-cut emeralds with abrasions and some scratches visible under x10 magnification. Rubies and sapphires each respectively well matched in colour, with medium strong to strong saturation, medium to medium dark tone, with typical crystal inclusions, some surface reaching visible under x10 magnification, some minor abrasion and scratches visible under magnification. Signs of wear to the metal consistent with age and wear. In good condition. Total gross weight approximately 82 grams.
