The cabochon sapphire stated to weigh 8.74 carats, set within a gold mount of geometric design, size 541/2, French assay marks. 

Condition

Accompanied by SSEF report no. 60533, stating that the 8.74 carat sapphire, measuring approximately 12.00 x 10.35 x 6.40 mm, is of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating. Engraved S. 8.74 referring to the sapphire weight. Stamped with French assay mark and OR 750 for 18 carat yellow gold. Sapphire of medium strong saturation, good transparency, few typical surface reaching crystal inclusions. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with use. In good condition. Gross weight approximately 8 grams.
