Of toi et moi design, set with a pear-shaped ruby weighing 3.32 carats and a similarly cut diamond weighing 2.09 carats, size 53, sizing band, French assay and maker’s marks, case stamped Alexandre Reza.
Condition
Rubies of Burmese origin cannot be imported into the US. This piece may contain a ruby of Burmese origin and therefore may not be able to be imported into the US. Maker's mark A R for Alexandre Reza, engraved B. 2.09 indicating the weight of the diamond and R. 3.32. indicating the weight of the ruby. Stamped with French assay mark and OR 750 for 18 carat yellow gold. Ruby of strong saturation, with typical surface reaching inclusions, few scratches and nicks. In our experts' opinion the diamond is G colour, VS1 clarity. Accompanied by diamond grading report from the chambre de commerce et d'industrie de Paris no 103.465, dated 20 June 1997, stating that the 2.09 carat diamond, measuring 10.97 x 7.15 x 4.35 mm, is of F colour and VS1 clarity. Also accompanied by a gem report from the chambre de commerce et d'industrie de Paris no 0113550, dated 19 October 1989, stating that the 3.32 carat ruby, measuring 11.9 x 7.3 x 5.1 mm, shows characteristics similar to those of rubies of Burma occurrences. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with use. In good condition, sizing band. Gross weight approximately 4 grams.
