The rectangular compact of basketweave design, set with calibré-cut rubies weighing approximately 6.00 carats, the interior fitted with a mirror and a lidded compartment lined with suede, measuring approximately 2 7/8 by 2¼ by 5/8 inches, gross weight approximately 131 dwts, signed Van Cleef & Arpels, numbered NY 16098. With fitted suede case.
Condition
In good condition. With gentle surface wear to the gold and not readily apparent denting. The rubies are medium to medium deep slightly purplish red, eye-clean to lightly included. The taupe suede interior with light red staining, possibly rouge, and minor discoloration from age and use. The chocolate brown suede slipcase in generally good condition with wear at the corners; unsigned.
