Hannah Jonas was born Wilma O. Barrow-Parker, the oldest of nine siblings, in Oak Grove, Florida in 1919.  Hers was a classic Cinderella story.  She was discovered while scrubbing floors at a diner by a gentleman from New York who told her she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.  Inspired by his flattery, she moved to Manhattan in 1937 where she transformed herself into Hannah Jonas. She began her career walking in fashion shows for Lord & Taylor and Saks Fifth Avenue and became a successful print model, appearing in publications such as Look, Harper's Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Life, Mademoiselle, and Vogue.  The small town girl grabbed the ultimate brass ring, however, when she won a contract with Universal Studios.  As Hannah Jonas, she mixed with celebrities and socialites from Monte Carlo to Cuba.  She counted the Rothschilds, Rockefellers, and Kennedys among her friends, and Joe DiMaggio and Otto Preminger among her paramours.  It was a most glamorous life.
