The central navette-shaped motif set with an emerald-cut emerald measuring approximately 10.4 by 9.8 by 6.3 mm, accented by old mine-cut diamonds weighing approximately 3.10 carats, length 7 inches; backchain is removable; accompanied by removable brooch and pendant fittings; the centerpiece circa 1840, the backchain, brooch and pendant fittings of later addition. With fitted box signed M. Streeter (Late) Hancock & Compy Ltd.
Condition
In good condition. The emerald weighing approximately 4.05 carats is a medium-deep slightly bluish green, moderately included with some small surface-reaching fractures, with one under a prong that may make it difficult to remount, and a small chip near the girdle. The diamonds are approximately I-K color, SI clarity. Nice detailing to the gold work throughout the central section. The brooch fittings are bent and need some minor repair to be functional. Accompanied by AGL report no. CS 59334 stating that the emerald is of Colombian origin, clarity enhancement: minor, type: traditional.
