The crescent-shaped brooch set with nine pearls measuring approximately 4.6 to 4.2 mm, accented by old European, old mine and rose-cut diamonds weighing approximately 4.60 carats, set with one diamond simulant; 19th century.
Condition
In good condition, with some discoloration to the gold on the reverse, not apparent when worn. The round to near-round pearls have a silvery white to white body color, good to fair luster, with some very minor pitting visible only under magnification. The diamonds are approximately H-J color, VS-SI clarity, with some of the larger stones exhibiting some minor chipping to the exposed girdles. The diamond simulant is the one between the 5th and 6th pearls, when starting from the top as viewed in the catalogue. Please note that the pearls have not been tested for natural origin.
