Description
- silver, gold, diamond
The chandelier-style earrings supporting fringes, set with 14 large rose-cut diamonds and numerous smaller rose-cut diamonds, with French assay and maker's marks; 19th century.
Condition
In very good condition, particularly considering the piece's age. The diamonds are approximately I-K color, predominantly SI clarity, with some VS and I clarity examples. The primary diamonds probably foil-backed. The diamonds weigh approximately 15.20 carats. Well made, with nice detailing on the front. With maker's mark of an E and V, bisected by a crescent, in a horizontal lozenge. The marks of a boar's head facing left (silver) paired with an eagle's head facing right, both in ovals, were in use from 1838-1919.
