The 'day-to-night' style with three frontal panels set with round diamonds of yellow and brown hues weighing approximately 4.45 carats, the central panel set with round near colorless diamonds weighing approximately 5.50 carats, with polished gold rondelles which slide to conceal the diamonds and expose silver segments for variety of wear, gross weight approximately 99 dwts, internal circumference 13½ inches, signed René Boivin, stamped G & Co. with British import marks and French maker's marks; circa 1975.
Condition
In good condition. Stiff collar displays white diamonds of approximately G-H color, VVS-VS clarity and colored diamonds of approximately Fancy Light to Fancy Dark Yellow to Orangy Yellow color, VS-SI clarity. Overall setting is in good condition, with very little wear to polished surface. Sliding rondelles can be moved easily by holding necklace firmly in both hands, putting thumb and index finger on either side of a rondelle and sliding gently to one side or the other to reveal the silver segments. Please note that the colored diamonds are not tested for natural color. Please note that the clasp mechanism has become lose and will be repaired by Sotheby's for the purchaser.
