Jade Bead, Carved Jade and Pearl Necklace

The carved and pierced jade pendant of foliate design measuring approximately 44.6 by 31.7 by 8.2 mm, topped by single-cut diamonds, suspended from a necklace composed of 18 jade beads measuring approximately 11.5 mm and 17 small carved jade beads measuring approximately 10.7 mm, decorated at the sides with two large carved jade beads measuring approximately 19.9 mm, spaced by 38 pearls measuring approximately 7.3 mm, length 17½ inches.

In good condition. The jade beads and carved jade beads are a medium to medium-light green with evident mottling throughout, semi-translucent to opaque. The jade plaque is carved on both sides and is a medium deep green, also with evident color mottling, semi-translucent. The reverse side not shown in the catalogue depicts a bird pecking at the fruit. The round to near round pearls have a silvery white body color, good to medium luster, with some examples bearing minor peeling and pitting, visible under magnification. The diamonds weigh approximately .15 carat and are decorative in quality. The pendant likely of later addition. Please note that the pearls have not been tested for natural origin.
