Set with a cushion-cut sapphire weighing 7.68 carats, flanked by baguette diamonds weighing approximately .30 carat, size 5, with a later-added adjustable shank; circa 1930.

In good condition. The sapphire is a richly saturated medium-deep very slightly violetish blue, lightly included with some significant abrading to the facet junctions, as well as two facets on the pavilion. Could benefit from a polish. Some very minor color zoning visible near the girdle under magnification. The diamonds are approximately G-I color, VS-SI clarity. Fitted with an expandable shank. Accompanied by AGL report no. CS 57985 stating that the sapphire is not of a determinable origin, with no indications of heating. Accompanied by Gübelin report no. 14020015 stating that the sapphire is of Ceylon origin, with no indications of heating. This report also states that "This colour variety of sapphire may also be called 'royal blue' in the trade."
