The two-strand necklace composed of 63 tumbled spinel beads weighing 577.75 carats, spaced by openwork beads set with marquise-shaped rubies weighing approximately 17.50 carats, further set with numerous round diamonds weighing approximately 6.10 carats, completed by a clasp centering a round yellow sapphire weighing approximately .40 carat, length 21 inches.

Condition

In good condition. The spinel beads range from medium to deep slightly purplish red to slightly orangy red, moderately to heavily included as is typical for this type of material, with many examples bearing surface-reaching inclusions and cavities and chips, semi-transparent to translucent. The rubies in the openwork gold beads are decorative in quality. The diamonds are approximately I-J color, SI-I clarity. The yellow sapphire is a medium yellow and slightly included.
