The jade plaque carved with foliate motifs measuring approximately 73.3 by 42.7 by 7.9 mm, supported by a black cord decorated at intervals with eight carved coral beads measuring approximately 13.4 to 12.4 mm and 26 carved pit beads measuring approximately 11.3 mm, length 23½ inches, pendant length 7 inches; early 20th century. With fitted box signed Cartier.
Condition
In good condition. The carved jade pendant designed as a dragon encircling a bi disc is a medium to medium-deep green with evident mottling of white and black throughout, semi-translucent to semi-opaque. The carved coral beads are a medium to medium-light pinkish orange with evident mottling with some minor surface wear in the form of chips that are not apparent when worn. The carved pit is well executed with what appear to be devotional scenes. With fitted box signed Cartier.
