Platinum, Emerald and Diamond Choker

Estimate
75,000 - 100,000 USD
bidding is closed

Description

  • platinum, emerald, diamond
Centering three emerald-cut emeralds weighing approximately 8.50 carats, within garland surrounds, set with numerous old European and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 24.50 carats, the clasp further set with French-cut emeralds, affixed to black ribbon, length 13½ inches.

Condition

In good condition, with some loss to parts of the ribbon. Several of the platinum links have become disconnected, particularly on the two segments nearest the clasp tongue; this is not readily apparent when worn and does not affect the integrity of the piece, as the ribbon helps to keep the piece intact. The lively emeralds are a medium deep slightly bluish green, lightly to moderately included with two bearing surface reaching inclusions. They appear much cleaner when worn due to the mounting. The diamonds are approximately G-I color, VS-SI clarity, with some I clarity examples. Nice millegrain detailing to the metal throughout.
