The flexible necklace of garland design, composed of 34 cultured pearls measuring approximately 6.8 to 4.2 mm, accented by 56 gray cultured pearls measuring approximately 3.6 to 3.3 mm, the pendant centered by a pear-shaped diamond weighing approximately .40 carat, accented by numerous round and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 3.65 carats, length 16ΒΌ inches, one diamond and one pearl missing.
Condition
In good condition. The off-round larger cultured pearls have a silvery white body color, fair to medium luster with several exhibiting minor peeling and wrinkling to the skins that is not apparent when worn. The near-round smaller cultured pearls have a silvery gray body color, medium luster, some pearls exhibiting some very minor peeling. The diamonds are approximately H-J color, SI-I clarity with several VS examples. The necklace appears to be made from two disparate elements, with the larger cultured pearls perhaps later added. The missing pearl and diamond are both from the clasp.
