Description

  • Van Cleef & Arpels
  • diamond, emerald, yellow gold, platinum
Of graduating fringe design, suspending seven step-cut emeralds surrounded by variously-shaped diamonds, anchored by two step-cut emeralds to the centre and back, the necklace set with brilliant-cut diamonds, the emeralds and diamonds together weighing approximately 40.25 and 60.00 carats respectively, mounted in platinum and 18 karat yellow gold, length approximately 405mm, all pendants detachable, signed and numbered NY56607.

Condition

Colour and Clarity: According to Gübelin report, the emeralds are of Colombian origin, with indications of minor clarity enhancement. Please refer to the report for details. In our opinion, the emeralds are well-matched, of brilliant intense green colour, eye clean with good live. Upon 10x loupe, there are natural crystal and fingerprint inclusions in the emeralds. Some emeralds have surface reaching fissures and tiny nicks on girdle or crown edges, but all these features are not seen to naked eyes. Diamonds are about E to G colours, VVS to VS clarity. Signed and numbered to the clasp. Condition: Platinum and karat yellow gold mount, all pendants are detachable, signs of normal wear to the metal, overall in very good condition.

Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.

Catalogue Note

Accompanied by Gübelin report numbered 14061002/ 1 to 9, dated 9 June 2014, stating that the emeralds ranging from 9.26 to 1.93 carats are natural, of Colombian origin, with minor clarity enhancement.
