Modelled as a butterfly of checkered design, meticulously painted on mother-of-pearl, highlighted by brilliant-cut diamonds, mounted in 18 karat yellow gold, signed and numbered CL13711.
Condition
Colour and Clarity: In our opinion, the diamonds are about E to F colours, VVS to VS clarity. Signed and numbered, with original signed box.
Condition: Signs of minor wear, overall in very good condition.

Van Cleef & Arpels' inspiration from nature, especially their affection for butterflies symbolizing femininity and metamorphosis, is reflected in a 2011 collection created in association with renowned Japanese lacquer-artisan Mr. Junichi Hakose, called Lacquered Butterflies. These exquisite and unique butterflies are individually designed and hand lacquered by Mr. Junichi Hakose. The butterfly forms are created in gold, with a mother-of-pearl base in the Van Cleef & Arpels workshops. The pieces are then sent to Wajima, Japan, where Mr. Junichi Hakose's workshop is located, to be uniquely lacquered with traditional designs, and innovative finishes. Lacquered Butterflies is a beautiful collection that pays homage to history, tradition, craftsmanship, grace and ephemeral beauty.
