Description

  • Michele della Valle
  • coral, sapphire, chalcedony, diamond, gold
The first pair of cufflinks set with a carved coral 'crab'; the second pair set with a carved coral 'turtle', to an oval onyx background; the third pair set with a carved coral 'skull', accented by diamond-set eyes, to a square onyx background; mounted in 18 karat white and yellow gold, signed MdV. (3)

Condition

Colour and Clarity: In our opinion, the carved corals are of various hues, including light orangy pink, medium pinkish orange and intense orangy red colour, with typical curved striae pattern. Upon 10x loupe, some corals have surface fissures, not seen to naked eyes. The dyed blue chalcedony on the pair of "crab" cufflinks are hightly translucent. All are signed MDV. Condition: Signs of normal wear to the metal, overall in good condition.
