Designed as a gold cross, set with four variously-cut sapphires of pink and blue tints, one chrysoberyl and one green glass stone, suspended from a fine link chain, the clasp forming a pair of clasped hands, length of doubled chain approximately 710mm, signed A. Blöchlinger, maker's mark.

Condition

Accompanied by GGTL short report no. 14-B-3308, stating that the two pink sapphires, the two sapphires, the chrysoberyl and the glass are of natural origin, the pink sapphires and sapphires with no indication of thermal treatment. Signed A. Blöchlinger, maker's mark, dated 1928. Stamped 750 for 18 carat yellow gold. One cushion-shaped sapphire measuring approximately 12.80 x 10.00 x 6.77 mm, calculated to weigh approximately 7.50 carats; the other cushion-shaped sapphire measuring approximately 13.20 x 10.50 x 6.80 mm, calculated to weigh approximately 8.20 carats; one triangular pink sapphire measuring approximately 10.70 x 10.80 x 6.10 mm; the rectangular mixed-cut pink sapphire measuring approximately 12.00 x 10.00 x 5.30 mm, calculated to weigh approximately 8.50 carats; the cushion-shaped chrysoberyl measuring approximately 14.20 x 10.70 x 6.80 mm, weigh approximately 8.40 carats; the oval glass measuring approximately 11.70 x 10.60 x 7.70 mm, weighing approximately 4.35 carats; all gemstones measured in collet-setting, measurements and calculated weights are estimates. All gemstones with medium to light saturation, with typical crystal inclusions. Clasp secure. Signs of wear and small spots of tarnish to metal consistent with age and use. In good condition. Total gross weight approximately 41 grams.
