Sapphire and diamond ring

The marquise-shaped sapphire weighing 7.15 carats, decorated with brilliant-cut diamonds, size 52^½, French assay and maker's marks.

Accompanied by Gübelin report no. 11010189, dated 3 February 2011, stating that the sapphire weighing 7.15 carats and measuring approximately 13.70 x 9.65 x 7.05 mm, is of Malagasy origin, with no indications of heating. Stamped with French assay mark and OR 750 for 18 carat gold, mounted in yellow gold. Engraved S 7.15 indicating the weight of the sapphire and B 4.27 referring to the total weight of the diamonds. Sapphire of medium strong saturation, good transparency, few inclusions, minor nicks and scratches; for further information please refer to the Gübelin report. Diamonds on average of G-I colour, VS-SI clarity, as graded in mounting. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with use. In good condition. Gross weight approximately 9 grams.
