Of bombĂ© design, each set with a sugarloaf cabochon sapphire, within a mount pavĂ©-set with circular- and single-cut diamonds, unsigned, maker's marks, pouch stamped JAR. 

Provenance

This lot was part of the Magnificent Jewels from the Collection of Mrs. Charles Wrightsman sale, at Sotheby's New York on 5 December 2012.

Condition

Accompanied by SSEF report no. 82364, stating that the sapphires, measuring approximately 15.40 x 11.60 x 10.75 mm and 15.30 x 11.75 x 10.10 mm and weighing approximately 17.0 and 16.0 carats, are of Ceylon origin, with no indications of heating. Please note that Sotheby's is not responsible for the accuracy of any estimated weights provided by gemmological certificates. Both clips with maker's marks. Clip fittings stamped 750 for 18 carat gold. Sapphires blue of medium strong saturation, very well matched in colour, few typical inclusions visible under 10x magnification, very minor scratches and abrasions; for further information on the sapphires, please refer to the SSEF report. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 12.00 - 14.00 carats, of various colours and clarities, as gauged in the mounting. Little signs of wear to the metal. In very good condition. Total gross weight approximately 48 grams.
