Original canvas.
There is surface dirt and spots of staining, most noticeable in the upper right hand corner. There are areas of craquelure and reticulation throughout the composition, most apparent in the thicker areas of impasto. Elsewhere there is a tiny fleck of loss to the black pigment, upper centre, with one or two possible small flecks appearing elsewhere.
Ultraviolet light reveals areas of fluorescence which appear in keeping with the nature of the materials and do not suggest retouchings.
Housed in a thin black wooden frame.
