In-8 (193 x 115 mm). Maroquin rouge à long grain, dentelle en encadrement, armoiries peintes, dos lisse orné des emblèmes impériaux (aigles, étoiles), tranches dorées (Reliure de l'époque).
Coiffes et charnières restaurées. Armoiries un peu frottées.
Aux armes de Germain Garnier, comte de l'Empire (1754-1821). Secrétaire de Madame Adélaïde, tante de Louis XVI, membre du club monarchique des Impartiaux, il se rallie au régime impérial et devient préfet en 1800, puis sénateur et président du Sénat. Il est fait commandeur de la Légion d'honneur, comte de l'Empire en 1808 et grand-officier de la Légion d'honneur en 1811. Pourtant, resté monarchiste de coeur, il vote la déchéance de l'Empereur en 1814.
