bidding is closed

Description

  •  mid 19th century
  • 80.6 x 45.7 cm., 31 ¾ x 18 in.

Catalogue Note

Literati (Bunjinki) style. The Fraxinus hupehensis possesses very straight branches, suitable for making into canes. But this bonsai features many dynamic curves and beautiful lines, dramatically different from the tree’s original form, the result of the careful design and technical agility of the bonsai designer. The tree possesses traces of carving and, viewed from different angles, emanates different styles.

The Fraxinus hupehensis requires full sun as well as adequate moisture and fertilization.
