Description

  • bronze
of archaistic lian form, the cylindrical body supported on three short scroll feet, the exterior centred with a band of three raised ribs, all between two raised bands of double-ribs encircling the rim and above the feet, the base cast with a six-character Xuande reign mark within a recessed panel, the surface with a brownish-black patina, wood cover and turquoise finial

Condition

There is general surface wear to the vessel. The tips of the feet are quite rubbed. There is extensive oxidisation, especially to the interior. Bruising to the banded decoration. The replacement wood cover is in good condition.
